PROBLEM
Blenders blend. The VitaMix, the Ninja, and the NutriBullet are blenders.
There is a time to use a blender in the pursuit of what we commonly refer to as ‘juicing’. And there is a time to use a juice extractor.
Depending on what fruits and veggies you are processing … you might use both a blender and a juice extractor.
Here is the general rule … if you normally eat it whole, then blend it whole, for example strawberries or kiwis and the like, blend the whole fruit or vegetable.
If you want to get the goodness of a whole glass of carrot ‘juice’ … then you use the juice extractor.
Now do you see? Hmm, not yet, then go try eating three whole carrots from the blender, go ahead, dare you!
But you can easily drink three whole carrots from a juice extractor!
For whole fruits/veggies … use the NutriBullet or the VitaMix or the Ninja. For single serving and small batches, use the NutriBullet, larger batches, use the VitaMix and or the Ninja, for blending.
When it comes to truly juicing or using a juice extractor … you go with the pro … JayKordich.com … Father of Juicing … and the original … the real ‘Juiceman’ … Jay Kordich the ‘Juiceman’.
When anyone in the world says … “The Juiceman” … we think of … the one and only Jay Kordich … he’s the guy that put ‘Juicing’ on the map!
There’s a but, back when Jay made the words “The Juiceman” famous, there was a brand by the name of Salton, and the trademark and rights to the word ‘Juiceman’, or ‘The Juiceman’, well they own the rights. Jay cannot call himself … “The Juiceman” because he doesn’t own the trademark, but we can.
As we understand it, Salton successfully defended its right to the sole use of the trademark, ‘Juiceman’, even though the man behind the words is Jay Kordich, and when anyone says “The Juiceman” … it will always be Jay Kordich. We love that guy! And Linda too!
Jay Kordich gave the world his passion, inspiration and zest for life! What an encouragement this guy has been and continues to be! Awesome Jay!
SOLUTION
Juice the fibrous items like carrots … blend the more delicate items like strawberries, berries or pineapple; apple can go either way, it depends on how much fiber you want to consume, fiber is good, it’s your choice.
You have to experiment to really know and understand how you like your juice, and what tolerance you have for fiber in general, digestively speaking.
You can get fiber from both sides of the aisle, if you please, from fruits and from vegetables.
COMMENTS
If you are just starting out with juice extracting or blending whole fruits/veggies … the trick is to just keep at it, you will find your rhythm. Keep riding your bike, you will get better at it!
As we have previously said with regard to Food Storage in general, do invest in the Tupperware FridgeSmart containers, especially if you are going to make juicing/blending fruits and veggies a regular thing.
You’ll save handsomely on food that would otherwise have spoiled while you were busy trying to figure out what fruit/veggie juicing/blending routines work for you.
Did you know that the Tupperware ‘FridgeSmart Series’ was developed in concert with horticultural scientists at the University of Florida?
